1. Place Of The Ceremony

The wedding ceremony can be held in any official town hall or in special selected areas around the island. Therefore, we provide below all related information about conducting a Civil Wedding in Cyprus. (Request further information for weddings in churches)

1.1 Requirements:

The Civil Marriage ceremony takes place at Municipal Town building in a place especially arranged for the purpose. In order to complete an application for marriage, the couple has to obtain certificates of marital status as follows:

Recent certificates of Marital Status from Government Authority
(i.e. Town Hall, Ministry of Interior, Registry Office, Embassy, etc.)

Divorce Certificate

1.1.3

Death Certificate of spouse

1.1.4

Passport

1.1.5

Birth certificate

NOTE: All documents must be recent, original and officially translated into English. 

1.2 The Procedure:

There are two procedures of Civil Marriage.

1.2.1

The special Procedure

Applies for any couple that wishes to get married the same day of their application or less than fifteen (15) days.

1.2.2

The Notice of Marriage

In this case the couple can get married fifteen (15) days after signing the application, but not later than 3 months.

1.3 The Ceremony:

The ceremony in all town halls is very simple and it takes 10-15 minutes. After the celebration of marriage, the couple, the witnesses and the marriage officer signs the original certificate of Marriage.

NOTE: After the wedding ceremony, your wedding documents must be validated by the local Ministry of Justice.  Our company take over this procedure and return the final valid documents to you on the same day, or one day after depending on the wedding time and working hours. 

1.4 Town Halls:

1.4.1: Ayia Napa Town Hall

Ceremonies here, indoors or outdoors, take place on Monday through to Friday between 12:00 noon and 14:00, the exact date and time to be agreed. Booking well in advance is essential. The ceremony is conducted by the Mayor or Vice Mayor of Ayia Napa and is very personal and really beautiful.

1.4.2 Paralimni Municipality Hall: Paralimni is located only 10 minutes from Protaras Tourist Area. Wedding ceremonies take place in a place especially arranged for the case. The working days and hours are Mondays to Fridays from 07:30 to 14:30 and Thursdays from 15:00 to 18:00. 

1.4.2: Larnaca Town Hall

The Civil marriage ceremony takes place at the Municipal Town Offices in Finikoudes area, in a place especially arranged for the case. The working days and hours are Mondays to Fridays from 07:30 to 14:30 and Thursdays from 15:00 to 18:00. 

1.4.3: Limassol Town Hall

Ceremonies take place on Monday through to Friday between 08:00 and 14:00, the exact date and time to be agreed. Booking well in advance is essential. The parties may have their marriage celebrated by the Marriage Officer at his office at Limassol Town Hall.

1.4.4.: Paphos Town hall

Plan an outdoor wedding ceremony; book the town hall or a medieval chapel for your vows. Working days are Monday to Friday, 10:00 to 14:00. Booking well in advance is essential.

NOTE: Municipalities/town halls offer upon request and extra chare the conduction of wedding ceremonies outside the hall according to their municipal zone borders.
